Jack Howard

Chairman of the Board

Jack HowardJack Howard received a B.A. and M.A. in Chemistry from Dartmouth College and is a graduate of the Class of 1946. He served in WW II as a naval officer in the Pacific Area and occupation of Japan. Jack retired in 2005 after 21 years with DuPont and 36 combined years as Vice President of American Recovery Co., Santanna Natural Gas Corp. and North American Fuel Co. He was involved in recycling chemicals and waste oil, marketing and project development of power plants using Natural Gas. His community activities include serving as a Director and Past President of the Skaneateles Country Club and Elder and President of Presbyterian Men of the First Presbyterian Church of Skaneateles. He is a recipient of a Distinguished Service Award from the New York State Free and Accepted Masons and American Red Cross for Blood Drive Coordination. Jack married Ruth Franck in 1947. They have four children, ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Bill Allyn

Bill Allyn is a graduate of Dartmouth College in Mechanical Engineering and receieved his MBA from Syracuse University and an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters from the State University of New York. He is a retired President and CEO of Welch Allyn, founder and Chairman of Handheld Products and a founder of Everest VIT. Bill is a board member of the Naples Community Hospital, Naples Community Church and the Allyn Foundation. He is also a retired member of Community General and Auburn Memorial (chairman) Hospitals, Niagara Mohawk Power, M&T Bank, Oneida Ltd, Macny (chairman), New York State Business Council (chairman) and Skaneateles Recreational Trust. He is a retired Trustee of Syracuse University, the board of Overseers of the Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth and the Emerson Foundation. Bill married Penny Jones in 1960. They have four sons and 11 grandchildren.

Dr. Barbara Connor

Dr. ConnorDr. Barbara Connor is a member of the Emergency Room Team at Auburn Memorial Hospital and is very involved with Skaneateles and Auburn Community Projects. She serves as the President of the Skaneateles Musical Festival. Barbara worked at the Duk Lost Boys Clinic in early 2008. Barbara also consulted on training and evaluation of the capabilities of the Clinic Staff and establishing improved medical standards and practices.

 

 

Don Cross
board member

Don CrossDon Cross attended Utica College of Syracuse University with a major in Biology. He has been a member of the Skaneateles Fire Department for over 30 years serving in various capacities including underwater search and rescue, firefighter, first responder, driver, officer and president. He operated an underwater contracting and salvages business with his sons and his electrical contracting business. Presently, Don is the project manager for major capital projects at Nucor Steel in Auburn, New York and has extensive industrial electrical experience. He is a member of the congregation of the First Presbyterian Church of Skaneateles where he is an ordained Elder and Deacon. Don was the on-site construction supervisor for the Duk Lost Boys Clinic spending five weeks in Southern Sudan in 2007. He also served as the Vice President of the American Care for Sudan Board of Directors. Don and his wife Heidi have been married for 35 years and have four children.

Craig Lindsey

Craig LindseyCraig Lindsey received his B.A. in Urban Planning (Economics, Political Science, Sociology in development of community resources) from the College of Wooster in 1980; his Masters in Divinity from Union Theological Seminary in Manhattan in 1984; Professional Certification in Bio-Medical Ethics in 1994 from University of Milwaukee/University of Chicago Law School and University of Minnesota; his Doctor of Ministry in Gospel and PostModern Culture from Columbia Theological Seminary in Atlanta, GA 2003. Dr. Lindsey is a Minister of Word and Sacrament in the Presbyterian Church (USA), ordained in 1984; a specialist in Conflict Resolution/Cultural Transformation and Missions and Senior Pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Skaneateles, New York since 1996. In April 2005, he traveled solo to Southern Sudan to reunite families lost from one another during the 25 year civil war, where he developed relationships throughout the tribal culture, religious network, military systems, local government, Ministry of Health, NGOs and participated in the selection of the site for the Duk Lost Boys Clinic. In January 2008, he shared in leadership of the first Medical Mission trip to the Duk Lost Boys Clinic, negotiated contract for donation of three years of Internet Communications from Intelsat and provided grant writing for expansion of programs. He is a member of the Sudan Mission Network.

Gardner McLean
Treasurer of the board

Gard McLeanGardner McLean is President and owner of Finger Lakes Business Services, Inc., the parent company of three inbound call centers. Gard graduated from Hamilton College with a BA degree and from Rutgers University with an MBA degree.  Gard's background is as a CPA and CFO of several Central New York corporations. He and his wife, Lynn, have been married 28 years and live in Skaneateles, New York. They have two grown daughters.

 


Dr. David Reed
board member & Medical Director

David ReedDr. David Reed is an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at Upstate Medical University, where he has been actively involved in International Health Activities since 2000. During a 2007-2008 sabbatical, he has focused his activities in global health. His interest is in the rebuilding of health care systems in regions where they were disrupted, generally by civil conflict. Recent activities have been primarily in South Sudan and Northern Uganda. Over the last year he has also worked in Kosovo, Ghana, Rwanda, St. Lucia and Haiti. Dr. Reed is active in community projects in Cazenovia, NY and he serves as the Associate Medical Director for the Duk Lost Boys Clinic.

 

Chris Royce

Chris Royce is a Senior Vice President with Primerica Financial Services and lives in Manlius, New York. He has been an entrepreneur for over 18 years, and owned a Financial Services Firm since 1999 which oversees 280 licensed representatives across New York State (Rochester to Albany). As a public speaker, he has made presentations to over 250,000 people about finances, business and success. He spends the majority of his time training and developing entrepreneurs in financial services. He and his wife, Sherri, have been married for 15 years, and they have two children, ages 10 and 6.
