Duk Lost Boys Clinic Responds to Nearby Violence
The staff of the Duk Lost Boys Clinic treated several people who were wounded by recent violence in neighboring areas. The situation is now calm and the staff and clinic are secure.
The Duk County Commissioner visited the clinic on September 25 and praised the staff for their dedication and hard work. The clinic's emergency action plan went into effect as a precaution. The John Dau Foundation plans to send basic humanitarian aid in the form of food and medicines to people temporarily displaced by the threat.
Starting a clinic in this war-torn region has definitely had its obstacles. However, we are proud of our staff for handling the situation so efficiently and are more confident than ever that our presence in South Sudan is essential for the area's survival.
